I was selected to be part of onedotzero_cascade, an education programme for recent graduates. I was put into a multidisciplinary team- from illustration to architecture- and we were then tasked with coming up with our solution to improve the city- injecting art into everyday city life. The week long workshop was ran in partnership with Glue London, and we were given the opportunity to discuss our ideas with practitioners such as Quayola, Andrew Shoben of Greyworld, and Jules Cooke of Squint Opera.
My group gave our presentation “Its Nice to be Nice” at the BFI Southbank in September as part of the onedotzero_adventures in motion festival. Our solution was to give positive reinforcement for doing nice things.
We wanted to keep it light-hearted, part of the everyday life and designed to be unexpected. We presented a selection of concepts, including a hand dryer which plays the harmonica when used, an escalator which lights up when a person stands on the right, and a recycling bin that sings back ten green bottles when used.

For More information on the project see the onedotzero blog.
