Saturday night was the closing night for the Aberdeen City & Shire film festival- it was also the first night that myself and Fraser Denholm (www.fraserdenholm.com) have worked together under the name ‘Pay No Attention to the Men Behind the Curtain’.

Part of the work shown in my D&AD New Blood show at the start of the month. This was my contribution for my issue of Cake Magazine, with the theme “Lumière”- I wanted to take light to somewhere it wouldn’t be expected. The beach at midnight seemed like a good choice!

I’m currently working as a photographer for the Aberdeen City & Shire Film Festival, which is on from now until the 1st of August in various venues across the city.

I think wind turbines are pretty amazing- really quite elegant and impressive; so I jumped at the chance to do some work with London studio Uber (www.uber-london.com) for Eastman, a chemical company who have been utilising wind turbines to improve energy efficiency and keep greenhouse gas emissions low.

This is a photo I took while on the job with Jackie Wu of Uber- the final video is in the editing suite.

A wee timelapse video created by Jackie Wu and myself last night- much riskiness in setting the camera and tripod up, and praying that it wouldn’t fall out of the window in the night. Be sure to check out his site- some killer work on there.

I made the journey with my course mates to London last week, for the D&AD New Blood exhibition, a yearly event in which graduating visual communication, advertising, graphic design and digital media courses from across the UK exhibit together.

I get my marks back for my degree (Ba Hons Visual Communication) tomorrow. Here’s the first photo in a series I took to illustrate visual/sound Synaesthesia, a condition in which sense merge, and colours can be “heard” and sounds “seen”. The whole series (and the rest of my work from the final year of my degree) will be on display at the Grays School of Art Degree Show, which is from the 12th until the 21st of June.

My issue of Cake Magazine, Lumiere, launches on Sunday at Bar Five. Come down, get a copy, buy a drink- it’ll be great.

Awesome night Slanted + Enchanted had on the go on Sunday. Started off with the wonderfully layered and melodic soundscapes of debutant, and ended with the volume of London bands 85 Bears and Elks.

S+E are putting on some very good nights in the city, and getting bands up from all over… look out for the next one.
