From a screening of short films at Project Slogan on Wednesday Night.

The PEM (Photographic and Electronic Media) outdoor xmas screening on thursday, held in the grounds of the art school. It was freezing – but we had mulled wine, and haribo!

I was invited to photograph Hot Chip at The Forum, Aberdeen, as they played a gig for Tennents Mutual- a new series of gigs across Scotland to replace the always excellent Triptych festival. I also got the chance to photograph them backstage while they were being interviewed by Fence Collectives’ The Pictish Trail for the article- very strange to hear a band and a musician in conversation with no audience!

As the first of two Tennents Mutual gigs this week, I was sent to Inverness to photograph Teenage Fanclub; supported by King Creosote and Rob St. John. My second appointment with the new Mutual festival is with Hot Chip and Max Tundra, in Aberdeen at the end of the week.

Fraser Denholm’s latest exhibition “Fat Bottomed Girls” is now open at Project Slogan, Torry. The photograph is from the opening night- Fraser rode the custom bike and main exhibit “The Silver Machine” the mile or so to Torry, arriving just after doors open.

Also on display is a series of photographs of cyclists and their bikes, and a short film- A Born to be Wild spoof featuring The Silver Machine.

I covered the Belladrum Tartan Heart music festival for The Skinny last weekend, and had an excellent time doing so. Belladrum is based near Inverness, and is very much a family-orientated festival.

My photograph on the flyer for Fraser Denholms’ show at Project Slogan, “Fat Bottomed Girls”. The show preview night is next Thursday- the 7th of August from 7-10pm and also features a screening of his new film EZY RYDER.

I’m building a website for myself at the moment, and was just going through some of my old photographs and projects, when I came across this photograph. I quite like it- the start of a new blog seems like the right place to put it.
